Our Story

Beacon Foundation, Inc.

The Beacon Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization founded in 2021 in Chester, South Carolina. The organization serves the Piedmont Tri-county area in South Carolina and Mecklenburg County in North Carolina. The initial idea derived from Mr. Frank Nash, a resident of Chester, South Carolina. Frank had a vision to create a mentoring program to focus on the developmental needs of young males in the Chester County area.  Additionally, he wanted the Beacon Foundation to be a philanthropic organization that would support the entire community, but it would have a strategic focus to support African Americans by providing programing and resources to target the social determinates of health, literacy, art appreciation, business development and the preservation of black history.
